The TTK Group is a highly reputed business house based in India with diverse interests in the fields of manufacturing of kitchen appliances, pharmaceutical and personal care products and services. They are the largest manufacturers of pressure cookers in the world.

TTK Healthcare Services is India's leading "Third Party Administrator" of Health Insurance in India. The TPA concept in India is barely one year old and in this short time, TTK has emerged as the market leader in the area of Mediclaim services in India, having earned the loyalty of all the major insurance companies in India - New India, National Insurance, Oriental, Reliance and ICICI - in a short time.

WebEdge was associated with TTK from the concept stage in the development of an integrated ERP system for Mediclaim Administration since 2002. This was a large, complex application covering the functionalities of enrolment of insured persons and their dependents (individuals as well as corporates), issue of identity cards, monitoring their benefits and limits, issue of preauthorizations for cashless treatment, admission and processing of claims, disbursement of payments against claims admitted and a large variety of reports for operational, strategic and statutory purposes. The database was large, with about 50 million insured persons and required integration with databases on multiple servers based in different sites.

Some of the high end features of the application include uploading and retrieval of images; import of data from Excel and Visual FoxPro files; export of data and reports into Excel and Visual FoxPro files; web enabling of the application to insurers, policy holders, corporates and other stake holders; integration of Crystal Reports with Visual Basic and ASP and integration of the application with third party applications.

The application was managed in a highly dynamic business environment with continuous changes in client requirements in terms of process definition as well as data capture and retrieval. Our software engineers provided onsite as well as offsite support to this application to provide new features and functionalities on an ongoing basis - continually tweaking the user interfaces and queries to meet the ever increasing load on the application. The speed with which WebEdge delivered the new features enabled TTK to assume a commanding competitive position relative to other TPAs and enhanced its reputation in the insurance industry in India.

WebEdge managed all business applications at TTK till 2009 when the company's acquisition by Swiss Re forced them to move to Swiss Re's globally approved vendors.
